Hi everyone I am new to this community and just have a quick starter question and I don't even know if it is girly period related or not but I thought I would ask. I am supposed to start in a week but the past few days I always feel like I have to go to the bathroom. Like I have had 10 glasses of water and can't wait to get to a bathroom, and yet when I get there its like nothing even came out. This sounds gross, but does anyone know what this may be or has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

could be some kind of urinary infection... sometimes you have to go to the doctor to get it taken care of, if it gets really bad... i'm assuming it doesn't feel the most comfortable... i've had this before though... and i've never ended up going to the doctor... i just make sure i drink a LOT of fluids, and not like sodas... things like water or sports drinks... those that hydrate your body... sorta like you want to flush whatever infection is in there out... make sense?

there is the vague chance that it could be an std. but it's unlikely...nevertheless. you should get it checked out if it continues.

and drink lots of cranberry juice! lots and lots.

There's no chance you could be pregnant? It's quite a common symptom of the first few weeks of pregnancy, because the increased size of the womb irritates the bladder.

If it's a UTI, the little that comes out will probably be darker than usual. Best to see your doctor to put your mind at rest, I think.

Ah, the burning sensation does suggest a UTI.

Doesn't sound like it's relevant this time, then, but for future reference, sore breasts are quite common in pregnancy and cramps aren't entirely unusual (some people even continue to have light periods for the first few months, and very occasionally even throughout the pregnancy).

Best to go to the doctor straight away, I think. UTIs can be nasty, especially if they spread to the kidneys.

I couple of times I have gotten rid of minor UTIs by starting to drink Cranberry juice by the gallon as soon as I felt the first twinge. Between the good stuff in the Cranberry juice and consuming all that liquid, the bacteria didn't stand a chance.

and if all that cranberry juice doesnt help, and it gets nasty and painful
a glass of water with baking soda stirred in is a disgusting but helpful cure (it dissolves the crystals)
