I adopted a kitten about two months ago. Beta (in my userpic) is now about 14 weeks old. I've been in the hut since Monday, but this morning I noticed something about him. He's absolutely fascinated by the crinkly noise when I unwrap an OB tampon. He stops whatever trouble he's making when he hears the crinkle and starts watching me. He races into the bathroom, and leaps up on the edge of the toilet or the tub and waits til I throw the wrapper out and has been known to fish it out and play with the crunchy wrapper.
Odd little boy, he is.

Date: 2002-11-08 02:48 pm (UTC)i noticed The Wandering Prince would pull tampons out of my backpack or purse, or the trash can, and carry them around the house, often stashing them under the bed. but the worst thing i found? one day i went to open the cupboard under the bathroom sink where i keep several boxes of tampons, and there he was that rascal cat. he had open the cupboard, climbed inside, opened 4 boxes of tampons, pulled ALL the tampons out of the box and piled them in a corner of the cabinet. he sat there on the pile of tampons (i'd say about 300 tampons, half of them already chewed up), like a kind of a throne, and played with a tampon or two between his paws.
i of course shooed him out of the cabinet and then found him back in there within 15 minutes, perched on his tampon throne. we've had to keep a child lock on the cabinet at all times.
yeah, gotta love cats.
