So I called my doctor this morning because it hurt sooooo bad to go to the bathroom and all of you were right! I have a UTI and now I am on medication for it, very expensive medication, but it should be gone in 4 days so I am very very glad!!! I just want to thank all of you for being so great and helping me determine what I might have, this is an awesome community!!!

Get yourself some "Azo Standard" at the drug store. It's an over the counter medication that won't make your UTI go away, but will make it not hurt while the drugs are taking effect. You will be sooo much happier for it!

What exactly is "Azo Standard" what does it do? is it just some kind of pain med?

It is pyridium, and it is a specific thing used to treat pain from UTIs. See the link below for more info:

One thing to note about it, it makes your pee turn bright orange. It states this all over the box, but it's still kinda shocking the first time it gets into your system and you use the restroom.

Otherwise, basicly it makes you not have the symptoms of the UTI - it eliminates the pain, burning, and feelings of urgency. It is seriously worth it. I can't imagine dealing with a UTI without it.

Thanks, but how would I stop it in the beginning? This just started two days ago so its not like I let it go forever, do you have preventative suggestions?

Ok, yeah my boyfriend brought me 3 huge bottles of cranberry juice last night!!! He was like I don't want my baby to be hurting so you need to drink all of these :-p Silly boy
