I'm new around here, so I just thought I'd give a hello. I'm in the Hut as of yesterday, but cramping kind of bad, which isn't good.
Apparently, I ruptured some Ovarian cysts a year or so ago, and ever since then, OW. But I refuse to go on the pill and have my body tricked into thinking it's knocked up every month. That's just wrong. Does anyone use any all-natural stuff for cramps? Teas, compresses, etc? I'd love to hear about something cheap and non-medical.

Date: 2002-11-17 04:52 pm (UTC)You might also try those therma care things they are making now, its a bit more medical than you wanted I think.
I curl up in a fetal position and grip something that I can also push my feet against, trying to stretch all the muscles in my lower back. I knead my lower back and abdomen both. I do some incredibly odd stretches and when I can just wrap myself up in a warm blanket with hot tea and pass out.
Also, sex [oral or intercourse or manual stimulation]or masturbation can help, if you can have an orgasm you generally feel an ease of tension in all your muscles. However, I've heard it has the exact opposite effect for some women.
When all else fails I make a desperate attempt to crack my back, bridge [lifting my hips as high as I can] then hanging upside down with my legs up against something and stretching them back and as if I were trying to touch them over my head. You can also lay on a matt on the floor with your arms laying flat at your sides and extend your legs up in the air. Extend your legs out and up to a 90* angle then slowly bring them back as if you are trying to touch the floor behind your head. Keep bringing them back until you've lifted your hips off of the ground. Hang around like that for a bit and it generally loosens that cramping up.
Hope you find some help in there somewhere.
