Someone here suggested the o.b. brand last time I griped about them, and I found free samples with a cute little holder and everything online. They came in the mail today right in time.. So I tried them out. It's that tongue on a frozen flagpole thing again though! :P With an applicator I can at least insert them and then have trouble with it after the fact, these I can't even make myself push all the way in. I guess I'm overly squeamish but I just can't take all those little fibers clinging to me on the way in and out.

So I think I'm really giving up on tampons for good, unless they come out with a new "won't cling to your girly parts" fiber.

At least I'm pretty sure it's the way the fiber clings that's bothering me, so I may try some other things like the keeper or instead.
I've heard the keeper does this scary suction thing sometimes though, and that instead is a pain to put in.

I'd just like to be able to do whatever I like with my vagina, you know? It kind of annoys me that I'm too squeamish to use some things, but oh well. I don't really have. to go swimming ever day of the month--especially in November :P

I don't like tampons either, haven't used them since a few failed attempts in highschool. That said, you might want to try using a sexual lubricant on them to ease putting them in, if you're worried about fibers clinging to you. Get some KY or whatever and coat them, and that might well make them go in a lot easier if you're having problems with dryness.

Still, seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to.

Tampons make me feel "plugged up", it's weird. No good, anyway.

i find tampons which contain rayon tend to do that sticking-to-girl-parts thing. you might try finding some 100% cotton tampons (might have to hit a health food store). then again, maybe tampons aren't for you.

it sounds like it might also be a fluid absorption thing. if you use tampons which are too absorbent for your flow, the fiber will end up leaching fluid from your vaginal membranes. and that gets mighty uncomfy.

i have absolutely no clue as to how they work and how they feel, but i'm sure she would love to help you out! she wrote about it a few weeks ago in her lj:

yeah, i was gonna recommend sponges too. you can buy sea sponges in a health-food store (often sold as bath sponges or cosmetic sponges), boil 'em a couple minutes, trim 'em to the desired size, and they are MUCH more comfortable than tampons! (you can write me if you want more info)

Ugh, I hate tampons too. Same complaints.

A dumb suggestion, perhaps, but maybe a smaller size tampon would help.
