Pill Help!

So I recently went back on the pill and started sleeping with my new boyfriend. Things were totally great, we have good frequent sex and I enjoy it lots.

However, recently he has been problems entering me, and getting me "wet" enough to be able to do so properly. And I have been finding it harder to get aroused, especially on my own. I have also stop enjoying doing some of the things I used to like doing so much.

This has happened when I have been on the pill in the past. Has any had any similar experiences?
If so, does anyone have any advice?
Should I got to the doctors and ask to try and different pill or just bear with it and hope it sorts itself out?

:\

Just invest in some Astro-glide, unfortunately.
sigh

yeah, I've got the same problem. The only way I've been able to resolve it is with lube. Astroglide works for me, but a doctor once told me some women absorb a water-based lubricant, but you can use a vegetable-based one safely without your body absorbing it. She said even regular vegetable oil or olive oil works. I've never tried that myself, though.

Lack of natural lubrication is normal when on the Pill. I suffered from it myself. Keep a tube of lube on your bedside table. A drop in your libido is yet another side effect of the Pill.

I just went off the Pill myself because my sex drive plummeted.

i had these side effects, exactly. Along with emotional problems (near suicidal depression when on the placebos).

i figured, what good is birth control if it works by making me never want to have sex? :D

But, you might try talking to your doctor and switching to another formulation - different pills work differently with each person's individual chemistry. i know some people who have tried 6+ different pills before finding one that fit.

Good luck. No one likes a birth control method that makes one never want to have sex (although no sex is GREAT birth control, it ain't very fun!). :D

I've tried a few different forms of BC and each has rudely effected my libido. Without any sort of negative interference, I naturally have a relatively low sex drive. (At least now that I'm older, I do) I'm screwed either way but I'm pretty much through making it worse.

You can be a punny woman!

Good luck. This is definitely a difficult situation. i hope you find a more-than-satisfactory resolution.

Thank you!

All tho, I must admit, the pun was completely unintentional. Sometimes, those are the best ones, don't ya think? :)

I did the same thing this summer, for the same reason.

How'd it work out for you?

eh, on the one hand it did help. It was almost shocking, I don't think I realized the extent to which I was not experiencing any kind of arousal. On the other hand, now I don't have the "sure-fire" birth control method, which makes me very nervous about sex and to be honest I've avoided intercourse partially because of that. I may try again after the new year, see if I can do something nutritionally or exercise-wise to feel the same arousal and get the pregancy-protection to make me feel safe enough to act on it. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'd like to try, or maybe find something else that works better without the side effect.

I'm drying out just because of age, though it's not an uncommon side effect of taking hormonal birth control.

I don't like astroglide for intercourse, but liquid silk's nice, and probe's pretty good.

i have the same kinds of problems with it too (ortho tricyclen) I just continue to have sex :) actually, if you can manage to think about sex a little more, it'll prepare your body to follow suit :)

But yeah, the feelings do suck. Especially when you first start the pill or every time you take the white ones. I find that i feel nauseous and what I imagine to feel like pregnancy every single month when i'm on those first white pills. I HATE it. I finally got a test one month it was so bad and got two negatives (still not pregnant or anything, but i get the symptoms)
I'm 22 and married almost 2 years and love my husband, but sometimes i feel that bland, boooo kind of feeling. Just make out til you feel like it :)
