why does everything suck?
Nov. 21st, 2002 01:00 pmLiving in a girlbody is a crock of shit and the industry that supports it all is a scam.
So, a month or so ago I made plans to go visit a very cute very sexy boy out in California. Then one month ago I started bleeding. I said "shit, if I stay on this cycle I will be bleeding when I go visit the cute boy and that will suck because I won't get to screw him with wild abandon." So I went and refilled my prescription for pills, which I had given up on a couple of months ago, and decided to try them again. All month I faithfully took pills, intending to take them straight through the trip (no placebos) and not bleed until I got back. But what should happen but that 2 days ago I start seeing spots and today I am bleeding, right on schedule despite the pills. And my flight leaves in 2 hours.
So last night I went out and bought "Instead" since I heard that you can wear those and still have sex with them in. WHAT THE FUCK? How the hell is anyone expected to get their dick into me when there is a big thick plastic wall in the way? It just doesn't go in far enough!! I checked and the "Instead" are a full 1/2" larger in diameter than my old diaphragm is (that I haven't used in years).
So now I'm pissed off at the whole damned menstruation industry. Pills don't work, Instead don't work... and all I wanted was a good fuck.
(don't get me wrong, I'll have him anyway... but it will be a lot more messy and a lot less fun. and I hate flying so cramps + airplane headache will NOT be fun. gonna tank up on dramamine and aleve before I take off and hope I'll live)

Date: 2002-11-21 10:33 am (UTC)BUT I also think it's possible to have plenty of good non-bloody sex even with Instead or a tampon if you just don't have intercourse. If the tampon isn't leaky (and you don't have a fluid bond), just tuck the string up inside and have oral sex, or use Instead in that case. Or use lots of fingers and stroking. It's possible to have really great sex without ever having intercourse.
With the one person I have a fluid bond with, we just put down a towel. He's fine with washing up afterwards (or have sex in the shower, woo!) and because we use condoms for birth control, just peeling off the latex takes care of a lot of the blood.

Date: 2002-11-25 10:49 pm (UTC)You really can't expect that one month of taking the pill
Date: 2002-11-21 12:52 pm (UTC)is going to get your body changing that quickly. There's a REASON that most doctors say to give the pill at least 3 months for things to get on track.
If you wanted the pill to work now, you shouldn't have quit taking it in the first place.
Re: You really can't expect that one month of taking the pill
Date: 2002-11-25 10:53 pm (UTC)I quit taking it because it was making me horribly depressed and having all sorts of other issues which I don't really feel like going into again. that was months ago, long before I made any plans for this weekend. I figured it was worth another shot. And it really has been better. But, really, the expectation by the menstrual products industry that I should be willing to go through 3 month of physical and mental hell for the benefits of the pill is entirely ludicrous. I have plenty of friends to whom that did not happen.
