Nov. 22nd, 2002 02:19 amHey. You people can call me Jeff. I was bored and actually found something to keep me entertained so I joined. I think it's a really good idea.
I've noticed that all the posts I've read in this community are related to menstration, etc. But since this place is full of girls I figured it'd be a good oppertunity to ask something.
I wanted to know if any of you knew the differences between the symptoms of a yeast infection and a bladder infection. Because I've had both before, and they were quite similar. But I'm from Canada and I'm staying with my boyfriend in England so I'm not really wanting to go see a doctor...and I've had nothing but bad experiences with doctors anyway so I now try to avoid them if possible. But I may have one of the two, and I would like to get rid of it...
Also, do any of you know any treatments for both, but alternatives to medication? Because I really don't like taking any sort or medicine...
Thanks.

Date: 2002-11-21 06:36 pm (UTC)I think with bladder infections, you mostly have the desire to pee all the time. I'm not sure though, because I can't remember the last bladder infection I had.
Sorry I'm not more helpful.

And sometime, when I have yeast infections, I'm not really itchy.
That's why I was wondering if there were any other symtoms...

Date: 2002-11-21 09:36 pm (UTC)But, I've always started the cranberry juice within a couple of hours of peeing becoming painful and I've always been feeling much, much better within 24 hours. I wouldn't let a bladder infection go much longer without getting antibiotics because the infection could move to your kidneys.

Date: 2002-11-21 10:54 pm (UTC)A yeast infection is when your inner labia and the area around the enterance to your vagina itch and burn a little.
Does that help give you an idea of the difference?

Date: 2002-11-22 03:20 am (UTC)Finally someone said it. See it doesn't hurt when I pee, with the previous bladder infections I've had, it doesn't hurt, and I always have to pee anyway so I wouldn't really know the difference there.
But this time, the enterance of my vagina did eventually start to feel burny.
Thankies. *hug*

Date: 2002-11-22 04:02 am (UTC)and if it's a yeast infection, bathe in a tub that has a half cup of white vinigar added to it, eat lots of sugar-free yogurt, cut down on yeasty foods and, for irritaiton, add some of that plain, no sugar added yogurt directly to your vagina (with your finger or a tampon... OB works for me...) and it should clear it up, especially if you have caught it early ;)
Best of luck!!!

Date: 2002-11-22 05:34 am (UTC)I don't use tampons so I guess I'd have to use me finger.
How do you get bladder and yeast infections?
