after four days of light muddy flow, i thought that was gonna be it, but no such luck. Came at 4am this morning with KILLER CRAMPS FROM HELL, so i took some synflex and heated up my hot wheat bag thingie, and went back to bed. thank god that drug works.

what point should i consider the 'start' of my period? I used to always start with a heavy flow and cramps, but recently ive had a couple of days of brown stuff first, and then the heavy flow and cramps. It's more useful for me to be able to predict the heavy part, and the cramps... would i be doing things completely wrong if i were to call that the beginning?
I'm new to this tracking thing.

I believe it's the first day of red blood. That's what I've been told. And not spotting either. A regular flow of red blood.

then I guess I don't ever have a period, since my flow is only brownish nastiness due to the fact that im onthe pill..

that's not good then. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about that.

I also used to start with a super-heavy flow and evil cramps. Now, since I went on and then off of b.c. pills, I've been starting with two to three days of brown spotting, then heavy cramps and bleeding. I don't have any advice about tracking, because I am also very new to it.
