menstrualhutWell, I'm back in the hut, one week late. Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY happy to be bleeding again after it had been a week early the past two months & now decided to switch back to being late. However...
I live on the NJ shore. it was 9°F last night with the wind chill. This morning I woke up at 8am to silence, went back to sleep. Woke up for good at 10 to hear the lovely splattering of a broken pipe on the outdoor shower. (They're common down here- so you get the sand off outside, instead of in the indoor shower and clog the drain.) The county has shut off our water until one of the landlord's friends can go into the crawlspace and find the manual shutoff for the shower (my father looked and couldn't find it).
So, in conclusion: happy to be bleeding, pissed beyond belief that there's no running water. I just hope I don't need anymore than the 3 gallons of water I bought at the store to cook lunch and dinner. :-\
