and on the 8th day... still no blood?
Dec. 8th, 2002 12:27 pmMy last period started on Halloween, lasted a typical 8 days as mine often do. Now, my periods often come close together, sometimes as little as 3 weeks apart, and on the rare occasions when it's late it's never by more than 2 to 3 days.
it's now 8 days late. usually when it's on its was my left ovary cramps up like all holy hell (polycystic ovaries, fun) and i get that ache in my back and abdomen. but i'm not having any cramps even. it's like my body's forgotten to bleed this month, and it's worrying me because it's never been this late before.
there is absolutely no chance whatsoever that i could be pregnant, so that explanation's out. it could be stress, but i'm no more stressed than i usually am, really -- i'm always stressed so i doubt this time would be so different. i read in the memories about parsely tea, but does anyone know any other ways to induce menstruation? or is it healthier to just wait and not mess with it?

Date: 2002-12-08 05:40 pm (UTC)You might need to see a doctor. It sounds like a hormonal thing..

Date: 2002-12-08 06:24 pm (UTC)Now I don't want to sound too much like a nag... I'm sorry your ob/gyn's have not been good to you in the past... but please please please try to get your yearly exam! I had several bad pap smears this year and had to have two colposcopies and a LEEP done.. those procedures are by far much more painful than just one pap smear. I'd hate to think that anybody would end up needing all of that done just becase their doctor sucks.
I hope you can find a doctor who works well with you. When you find him/her, stick with them forever. A good doctor is like an honest mechanic. VERY hard to find!!!
And don't forget you have the right to not let the doctor even touch you if you think they're going to hurt you. Ask to see the instrument first if you have to and refuse to lay back until you know what the doctor is going to use on you and it's acceptable to you. Be firm, after all you are their paycheck on legs! Their boss! The doctor works for you! :)
I know the feeling because I have to have the small-size instrument too! Yowch.
