oh god...i get the worst headaches when im having my period. i am just so happy today to have my period, its been the first time in a long long while its come on its usual day. i dont want to think this is why, but a bit over half a year ago i became vegan and until this month my period was completely abnormal, sometimes 10 days late, sometimes 20-some. it was so damn bizzare! is it possible that that dietary change could induce such drastic menstrual changes? that was the first time i had ever had an irregular period. i dunno, im just happy that for now at least it seems to have normalized itself. i was so sick of heavy heavy late flows. ack.

I've been veggie (not vegan, that's too strict and $ for me) 14 years, (I started at 9) and I had the same problems. If you're not taking an iron supplement, or a multi-vitamin with iron in it, I'd start. If you are, it might be dietary. Your body needs to adjust to your diet. But like I typed, I was veggie for a long ass time and it still wreaked havock on my menses wayyy after the veggie decision. Iron supplements, I say. It helped (a bit) with the irregularity, painful cramps diminished, and I just felt better in general during it.
Hope this helps!
Love the Kathleen pic, BTW

Iron, baby. It works wonders. Oh, what herbs will you take? I didn't know that herbs helped. See? I learn every day.
Yeah, Kathleen kicks major ass.
Take care,
Dillon

I have been vegetarian (not vegan) for almost 10 years and have never had a problem with my cycle's regularity. Maybe you're not eating enough fat? I think I have heard somewhere that it might be related. HTH!

How much fat you have in your body does make a difference to your hormonal cycle, because fat cells produce oestrogen analogues. Have you noticed your figure changing?
