Question

I have a medical type question and thought some of the lovely ladies here might be able to help me out.

I've notice tiny red dots on me (they are usually pin prick sized and are no never larger than the head of a small sewing pin). They tend to come and go... some lasting longer than others. They don't grow, don't blister, they just show up and then disappear. And only seem to happen on my torso (belly and chest)... and are spread apart big time. Sometimes I'll only have one, sometimes a few, but I don't remember any time they are ever close together.

Does anyone know anything about this sort of thing?

could it be a heat-rash of sorts?

Are they raised above your skin, like a very small blood-blister? If so, I have those and was told by my doctor that they're caused by low blood pressure - in totally unscientific terms, my blood is moving more slowly than it should be and therefore has time to seep out through the walls of the blood vessels where normally it would be rushing straight past ;-) It's nothing serious and doesn't require treatment.

It may be a skin irritation called petichaie (sp?)

Go to www.itppeople.com

If that helps and looks like what you have, see a Hematologist, ASAP.

i don't know what they are, but i get them too. all over. not so they look like a rash or anything, they're just so spread out. they're not really above the surface and they don't itch or anything. i've had them for years.

i think in inquired about them once and was told it had something to do with me being so anemic. in any case i don't really worry about them.

I have them too because I am extremely anemic. Its nothing to really worry about from what my doc said. But if they are raised up or something you might want to get them looked out. But otherwise I wouldn't worry about them too much.
