I absolutely, positively KNEW that I was due for my period yesterday afternoon. However, due to having two finals within six hours yesterday, the idea of putting a tampon in my purse totally slipped my mind. The result was this:
I run to the bathroom, because I felt the tell-tale cramps I get five minutes before I'm about to start bleeding. Since it was an hour before my second final was to begin, I was freaking out and couldn't find the ever-so-handy machine (despite the fact that, for once, I had change on me). I run back to the classroom, dig through my purse (while hoping that I had a leftover tampon from last month somewhere in the bottom) with no success, and run to the bathroom on the ground floor of the building to discover that the machine was broken. T minus 50 minutes to go. So I run to the building across the street, and in a panic, can't remember if tampons cost a dime or a quarter (I only had quarters). I bought a can of soda so that I could be covered either way, run to the bathroom, and discover that the machine is out. I remembered the second-floor bathroom, ran upstairs, and the machine is jammed!!! With 40 minutes to go before my final, I run to the third floor in a last-ditch effort to find a stinking tampon, and I FINALLY had some luck (they were a quarter BTW, but I needed the caffeine from the soda all the same). I run back across the street with about 30 minutes to go before my final. The kicker? I finished my final and had to go to the restroom (courtesy of the soda), and what's the first thing I see when I walk in? The stupid machine that I couldn't find earlier in the evening.
