Looking for a bit of 'girlie' advice...
Dec. 13th, 2002 12:32 amCross posted in a few places, I hope people don't read this too many times.
Ok, this is a series of events leading up to my current problem. I think the history is important, to get the clearest picture of what's happening to me. It's long, I'm sorry... I hope someone can offer me some info.
Last saturday morning (Dec 7) I noticed that there was a slight burning sensation when I urinated. This continued the next day, and I figured I had a UTI, and started downing the cranberry juice until monday when I could go to the doctor. Saturday night I had sexual intercourse, and he performed oral sex on me after eating spicy Thai food. He brushed his teeth, but the hot sauce was still on his fingers, and probably his lips and tongue. I still noticed painful urination, but nothing more. Sunday evening I was in a bit more pain, and noticed some chaffing inbetween my legs. Monday it was worse, with redness, swelling, and a gross goopy discharge that was an off yellowish color. I informed my mom and she and I went to a 'doc in the box' clinic where they gave me meds for a UTI and a yeast infection. The pills they gave me for my YI made me vomit horribly, so I couldn't take them. I tried Monostat 1, the one day suppository you put in the vagina, and the itches seemed to go down, but the swelling, chaffing and irregular discharge is still there. The UTI hasn't really cleared up, since the UTI meds seem to make me throw up sometimes as well. I've never had either one of these infections, and can't go see my real MD and gyno until tuesday. My question is is this gross discharge (slightly fishy smell, I noticed today, though I hadn't noticed much smell earlier), badly chaffing and swelling of the vulva, and general discomfort, (It's very uncomfortable to walk, sitting down is down right painful, I have to wear a pad because of all the discharge) normal? I haven't been able to rule out this being an STD either, since I have been sexually active without condoms, and though he has been careful with his partners in the past, hes had quite a few, and accidents might have happened. Don't tell me just to go get tested, I plan on it anyway on tuesday, but it would be nice to go in with an idea of whats going on! Ive been suffering for nearly a week, vomiting five times on tuesday, twice last night, and probably a few times inbetween.
Thanks for getting through all of that... any help would be appriecated.

Date: 2002-12-13 02:51 am (UTC)You may be allergic to the drugs they're giving you for the UTI. I am personally allergic to sulfa drugs, which is the class of drugs most commonly used to treat UTIs. They don't make me vomit, but they do make me break out in hives and get a fever.
As for the discharge.. that is not yeast infection discharge.
Go to a doctor.
