menstrualhutI wimped out, I didn't get tested, for various reasons. For now it can wait.
I went to ask about contraception, I haven't been happy with the pill I have been given for a long time. Aside from the slight loss of sex drive, and pelvic pains, I have been completely depressed, unmotivated and generally pmtish for nearly the whole to months I have been back on the pill.
And it's not doing me any good, so it stops here.
The clinic offered me Cilest, another common pill. It's a higher dose pill than the one I am (oestrogen i think, the female hormone anyway) at 35mg, whereas I am currently on 30mg.
This I don't understand, surely I would be better on something lower dosage, seen as how I being affected by the hormones?
I'm not going to start taking this new pill, I am going to my GP (one of whom is very good for this sort of thing tomorow) and probably coming off the pill for the forseeable future.
Has anyone had any similar experiences? With the pill and depression especially? And does anyone have any advice?
Please I'm getting desperate, I can't take any more tears ;)

Date: 2002-12-16 04:02 pm (UTC)I went through something similar. I was put on Nordette, but the depression was too bad, so I was switched to Cyclessa. That one didn't do me any good either and finally my doctor told me that some women just don't do well on the pill. So I got off the pill altogether. It just wasn't worth it.
I hope you find a solution that works for you.
I'm sorry I can't offer any help.... just wanted you to know that someone else has been through the same thing.

Date: 2002-12-16 04:05 pm (UTC)At the moment i'm not really at a point in my life when i can start messing around with different pills either, i have importabt exams and things coming up in the next few weeks and months and i can't get through it being like this.
I can't concentrate, I can't motivate myself, my memory has gone stupid and i don't know what's going on with my emotions :p
