i mentioned one little thing about periods and my dad freaked out told me to stop talking about it and left the room screaming "LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA"..

what a geek..

i started a new pack of pills today...two days early..next month im going to skip one sugar pill so i'll be back on the right day (match up with the package)...yep..exciting i know...

oh a funny thing..i was saying to my brother, "a lot can come out like when you're walking around...in the mall or whatever..and it's almost like you're peeing a little but you can't stop it"
and he's like "well i'll have to see when your ears are red to show your embarassed so i know when it's happening"
me: "uh..brad...i dont get embarrassed about it...it happens every month..im used to it..in fact..it could be happening right now and you wouldnt know it"
him: "yeah right!!"

lol..what a weiner..

It's so weird that we are EXPECTED to be embarrassed about it...I mean, you can see it in the ads and on the boxes..."So discreet, no one will ever know!" and crap like that implies that we should be ashamed or some shit like that. It's not like we can help it, silly. :) I'm glad you have a healthy attitude toward it. It's always nice to hear.

I used to be totally embarrassed about it...but I left that behind in junior high, about the same time I got over being embarrassed about hairy legs and not wearing makeup and other stupid stuff like that. :) I'm glad I'm over it, but at the same time, why are so many things designed to hide what we really are? Why are women not good enough the way we are naturally, but men ARE? Blah.

Oops...got off on a bit of a rant there. Sorry. ;P

Oooh, I will switch tracks entirely then to RAVE about Cunt. It's such a good book! I lent it to all my friends and it's just about falling apart now from all the reading. :) I read it again every time I start feeling icky, and it works WONDERS.

I got the DVD for Vagina Monologues because the book was checked out of the library ALL THE TIME. :) It was also good, but I think Cunt is better. I bet you'll like it. :)

I think many males have been brought up in households where it was never mentioned - or if they found out by accident then it was something men shouldn't know about. Hanger on from victorian values where females didn't have legs - in fact piano's didn't have legs - they had limbs and their 'limbs' were covered in little dresses.

I know my Husband is still getting used to it - doesn't like too gory details but is now happy to buy tampons etc. and does ask how I am doing - it was never mentioned by his mom.

Hey, my mother thought she was dying the first time as her mother had never told her about periods - despite the fact Grandma was a nurse - and was HORRIBLY embarassed about it. Something she never really forgave her mother for!
