does anyone else who takes ortho-cyclen get depressed or cry easily? a friend of mine who took it told me she did and she got so depressed that she stopped taking BC completely. i've noticed for the past few months that i cry pretty easily over sometimes the dumbest things.

help?

i was depressed while i was on ortho-cyclen. i cried a lot, was very morose, and lost interest in a lot of things... this is the complete opposite of my normal demeanor.

i'm a wreck on ortho-tri. i'm going to give it another month b/c i am in the middle of life changing events right now (i.e. moving to a new state/trying to find a job, etc...) so i really can't tell if it's the pills or just the added stress of everything else. other pills (i.e. loestrin) didn't make me that emotional, so i may just call the doctor and have her put me back on those.

Yup, I took it and I was on anti-depressants at the time. It still made me crazy.
If I remember correctly the packaging that no one ever reads says something about people with a history of depression shouldn't take that drug.

my mom had serious problems with the pill when she was younger, and she's never taken it since then. i'm on ortho-tri and can't decide whether or not my moodiness is pill-induced or just life. i'm keeping it at least until this prescription runs out ... it's just so convenient ...

I had to go off of it before it ever had a chance to affect my mood. My chest pains (angina) was so terrible that I actually worried that it would kick start a heart attack or something. I went off of it and it immediatley went away. Damn, I wish we didn't have to do these things to ourselves for non-pregnancies sake, but what can ya do? Just keep looking at different methods I guess.
