b/c and heart disease

hey...just a quick question: i really would like to be on b/c but all the brands i see increase your risk of heart disease. this worries me since my father died of a heart attack at 55 and my grandmother (his mother) at 60. what are my choices? i dont have time to go to the doctor's since i am going away for the new year.

It might be that your best bet is barrier birth control. At any rate, you'll have to go to a doctor eventually if you want a pill. S/he and you can go over your medical history together, and perhaps find a brand that's best for you, specifically. It would be hard for anyone here to know enough about you to name a brand.

I'm currently on ortho-tri-cyclen (for almost 3 years) and my father died of a heart attack at 33, his father has heart troubles, and my great grandfather (fathers mothers father) died of a heart attack.. everything is ok with me, but I would talk it over with your doctor first
