I have decided to stop taking my Provera. I'm sick of the side effects making me feel like crap all the time.

I guess I'm just not meant to muck with my bodys hormones. I had a similar problem when I was on BC. So I told my fiance tonight after we have had all our kids, hes getting the snip. He just laughed at me and said "sure, I'll shoot blanks for you my huney".

So now that my contraceptive options are narrowed.... what other contraceptives are there, that aren't hormonal based. All I can think of is condoms and a diaphragm.

condoms and diaphragms can be really effective (my mom used them until my dad got a vasectomy, and there was never an accident). options that i can think of are condoms (male and female), diaphragms (with spermicide for safety), cervical caps (i've heard mixed reactions to them), or surgery. using any contraceptive with a reliable rhythm method (fertility awareness) will make it safer, too.

The old-fashioned IUDs without the slow-release hormones (but make sure you read up on the risks beforehand).
