Tampon Scare

I don't do much thinking within the first few hours i'm awake. when i went to change my tampon, it was a little resistant of going up. then i thought to myself, "oh shit! did i take the other one out?!" luckily, i had taken it out. my vaginal area was a bit dry, which was what caused the resistance.

this has certainly sparked my curiosity. what would be the proper steps to take if something like this had happened? what should someone do if they insert a tampon, forgetting to take out the one that's already "up there?"

any input is appreciated.

Been there. Done that.

Nowadays, I usually wear a light tampon at night (along with a pad), and a super tampon (and pad) during the day. Back then, I didn't always wear a tampon at night... Hence my confusion that morning.

I stuffed a super tampon up there. It hurt, but I was really running late and dind't have time for messy girl things. For the first few hours of the day I was very uncomfortable. I could not figure out why... It was as though a watermelon was trying to squeeze itself down my vagina. I chalked it up to an exciting new variety of cramps, took some Excedrin and went on with my day.

Later that day, I went to change my tampon. I found the string, pulled... and imagine my surprise when TWO tampons came out! Fortunately the string of the first tampon hadn't been pushed up in, or if it was it had worked its way back down again.

Now... When in doubt, I always check. Obsessivly.

I've had the same problem, been half alseep and in the toilet changing, and I sit there and think... did I take the other one out? when in doubt I look into the toilet now lol.

I've never had two in at once, but I figure you would pull the second one out, then if the string was pushed up, try your hardest to pull it out with your fingers.... or if needed sterile tweezers.

I put two in one time without even knowing. I didn't realize until i went to take the second one out, and found two strings. Luckily, i guess i had just put the second one next to the first. I thought it was weird...and i was lucky it didn't make me sick either. I'm not good at remembering to change my tampon at the 8 hour mark anyway...so the first may have been in as long at 16 hours or more.

No big deal if it happens, i guess just try to think first! I probably was in a hurry or talking to someone or something and just totally didn't think about it.

the same thing also happened to me. i went the entire school day with 2 tampons in and the worst part was, i felt normal;like i only had one in and it was inserted properly. come to find out, when i got home from work that day, i pulled the string out and 2 tampons came out. it was like this extra long tampon. i got so scared that i may have TSS that i ran to my mom hysterical. thank goodness, i didnt have it. just if it happens, always make sure to look out fo the symptons/warning signs of TSS and if you experience ANY of them, see your docto immediately or go to the emergency room.

once i was at a conference and went into the bathroom to change my tampon... tugged and it wouldnt budge. pulled hard and much to my surprise 2 tampons came out. i dont know how there were two up there, cause i am VERY good about changing and taking them out. i think it must have been a faulty tampon or something... its just so unlike me to forget something like that.
