Tampon Scare
Dec. 27th, 2002 11:52 pmI don't do much thinking within the first few hours i'm awake. when i went to change my tampon, it was a little resistant of going up. then i thought to myself, "oh shit! did i take the other one out?!" luckily, i had taken it out. my vaginal area was a bit dry, which was what caused the resistance.
this has certainly sparked my curiosity. what would be the proper steps to take if something like this had happened? what should someone do if they insert a tampon, forgetting to take out the one that's already "up there?"
any input is appreciated.

Date: 2002-12-27 09:16 pm (UTC)Nowadays, I usually wear a light tampon at night (along with a pad), and a super tampon (and pad) during the day. Back then, I didn't always wear a tampon at night... Hence my confusion that morning.
I stuffed a super tampon up there. It hurt, but I was really running late and dind't have time for messy girl things. For the first few hours of the day I was very uncomfortable. I could not figure out why... It was as though a watermelon was trying to squeeze itself down my vagina. I chalked it up to an exciting new variety of cramps, took some Excedrin and went on with my day.
Later that day, I went to change my tampon. I found the string, pulled... and imagine my surprise when TWO tampons came out! Fortunately the string of the first tampon hadn't been pushed up in, or if it was it had worked its way back down again.
Now... When in doubt, I always check. Obsessivly.
