I'm new to this group but I already feel like I belong here. I have a couple of questions that maybe some of you could help me with. I have never had the "normal" abdomen cramps with my period, all I ever have is cramps in my crotch. Does anybody else have these? My family doctor (not an OBGYN) put me on birth control to reglulate my hormone levels (For I have PMDD) and he said that would help with the cramps but it hasn't!!! Nothing ever helps, I take Midol or Pamprin 4 at a time and it still doesn't help. Also, while menstruating I mainly shed big clumps of lining, is this also not normal? Thanks in advance.

Date: 2002-12-31 04:32 pm (UTC)Occasionally, I will experience "crotch cramps" They hurt like hell, like you have a big heavy weight attached to a string attached to your vulva. Big fun.
Only once has the pain been so bad that I couldn't get any more vertical than sitting position. That was right before my first ever period.
More often than not, I feel my cramps in my upper thighs and down into my knees, as if my nerves were on fire and/or numb. It is a strange feeling.
I was on birth control in 1998 to regulate my shifting hormones. It helped with everything BUT the cramps, which I still felt, although to a lesser degree.
Sorry I don't have any tips for you. But it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who experiences this type of cramps.

Date: 2003-01-01 01:20 am (UTC)I was told once that clumps larger than an old-style UK 10-pence piece should be checked out. Um, can someone translate that into something that would be meaningful in the US? The old 10p was larger than any US coin I can recall.
