A MUCH Better day...
Jan. 15th, 2003 05:20 pmIt started out pretty bad. I went to the gynecologist's office and he wasn't there. They drew blood and I cried as I paid the $15 co-pay and left. I called Planned Parenthood and asked the nurse to call me back. When she did, I told her that I would drive anywhere she wanted me to drive as long as I could get taken care of today. So, I drove to Dallas. They did another two vaginal ultrasounds and decided that there was debris in there. They were confused though because the pregnancy test they gave me came up negative. They told me that they would be happy to do another D&C for me. They gave me a shot of toridal and I waited 30 minutes for it to kick in. Then they did the procedure. It was a little longer than the first one because they wanted to make sure they got it all. It was very uncomfortable. They didn't have to dilate my cervix very far though. I left a half hour after the procedure and I am feeling 100% better now. They told me that the clots had adhered to the inside of my uterus and that's why I was having so much trouble.
When I got home, I called the gynecologist's office to schedule my follow-up appointment, as I had discussed with the nurse this morning. The scheduler called me back and was disagreeing with me on a few things. I calmly asked to have the Dr's Nurse call me back. She remembered me and scheduled the appointment with no problem.
I have learned a lot through all this. One, a little calm goes a long way. Two, the more specific you can be, the better. Three, sometimes you have to explain things several times. Imagine that it is another language. :)
Thank you all for your support. I never would have made it through all this without you.
