How brand loyal are you to your menstrual products?

I was talking to some friends about things that we buy a specific brand of, all the time-toothpaste, toilet paper, and so on. One of the things that was mentioned was menstrual products. Do you buy the same brand of tampons or pads all the time? Ever tried the generic version?

I'm an OB girl. Strictly. Though I am thinking about a Keeper.

You know, that is something I hadn't thought of. (slapping forehead). I'm latex sensitive, too. Guess I better do some research, huh.

I'm strictly on Tampax for tampons and Always w/wings for pads. I'm thinking about getting a keeper. I only use other brands when I have no option to.

I'm not that picky, I usually get what's on sale. :)

Me too! Thankfully I've never had a horrible experience with a product, other than that I hate pads in general.

I'm the same, whatevers cheap this week. I have foudn that with the generic tampon brands they tend to loose more cotton wool that the more upmarket brands.

When I first started using tampons at age 18 or 19, I was strictly OB. I had once tried generic tampons with a cardboard applicator and it hurt so much that I didn't want to have anything to do with applicators. At some point inserting OB became uncomfortable, and I stopped using tampons altogether. A couple of years ago I tried Platex Satin, and I've been hooked on those ever since.

I started out using Stayfree maxis, but have been with Always since age 19, because of the wings and driweave.

I forget the name, but I've used it since January 1992 when I first got my period. It feels so good to me. It was the first thin maxi, it's cottony/papery absorbant and doesn't make me sweaty. I Loooooovvveeee it. I used one of my sister's pads when I didn't want to run to my room, and I took it off within 10 minutes.

No preference for tampon brand.

Let me know if you remember the name. I've never found a brand of disposable pads that didn't make me feel sweaty and yucky.

*Had to dig through my closet*

I use Stayfree Ultra Thin with wings. Mentions "Cottony Dry Cover", they come in a small purple pack of about 18. I looooooove the "dry-ness" of them. It feels very natural and not synthetic. *Hate pad-sticking-to-bunners feeling*

I use Always ultra overnight with wings, and have pretty much since they came out. I've tried other brands and really hated them.

I've tried other brands due to economic necessity, but I use Always w/wings whenever I can. They work better than any generic/store brand that I've tried.

I usually used Stop And Shop pads successfully but my mother always uses Kotex Overnites 24 hours a day. When i got to Tampons, i used Tampax because plastic applicators are bad for the environment.

Then i bought a Keeper and never looked back :-)

I tried to use Kroger brand pads once, and they were diapers. It was awful.

Tampax compax all the way.

Im not brand loyal to anything unless one stands above the rest :)
I tend to buy cheapo shop-own-brand ones, but then I realise they're useless, so I go back to brand names. Or I get whatever's on offer. I am sticking to Kotex of Alldays pantyliners though - I got some that stretch with your body rather than bunch up and then leak!!

for tampons, i stick to the same brand and pads, my mother just buys whatever is cheapest and fits under the category of "thin and comfortable"

Well, I really love Stayfree super thin & long maxis for my heavier days, and regular old generic pantyliners for light days...I tried all the other brands of pads ( I hate tampons...) and Stayfree are awesome because they don't make me all sweaty like Always does...

I'm RIDICULOUSLY picky about pads. I was even in a snowy mess at my bf's in New Hampshire and refused to buy any pads (I was due any day then) because I couldn't find Kotex Thins. I followed that brand back when they were New Freedom thins. I've tried others, but they seem like a plastic webby shell with stuff in the middle that just rolls up in a hotdog after about an hour. Kotex thins hold their shape better.

Always - I can't think of the exat name of the kind I get, but they're the ultra thin but long kind with wings.

I've tried other kinds, and generic versions, and am just not happy with them.

The best pads I've ever had were some weird brand I'd never heard of, that I bought while I was in Mexico.
