This might sound stupid but I have a question for all the people that masturbate on this list. I masturbate often and often shortly afterward my crotch area is sore and/or has numb feeling. It goes away after a half an hour max. It's a real hard feeling to describe but does anybody else get this feeling after they masturbate? Is it normal? Does this happen after have sexual intercourse (I wouldn't know for I'm unfortantly still a virgin)? Thanks in advance!!!

First dear sister, your virginity is something to be cherished. :) There are many many days when I wish I still had mine.

The clitoris is a wonderful bundle of nerves. It requires a very light touch because it is so sensitive. If you use too heavy a touch, it can get very sore.

Because it is such a sensitive area, it will get tingly. :)

Nope - not stupid at all...
For me sometimes I have pains in my lower back and sholders - and all around my vulva and clitoris itches... the itching comes and goes even when I wash off directly after.

It could be something as simple as your technique and what you use - or it could be signs of a type of dysfunction. I dunno... (I'm a virgin too)

As texaswillow said, it's a sensitive area full of lots of nerves, so if it gets handled a bit harshly, you can get the effects you describe. Soreness lasting only half an hour probably isn't too much of a big deal, but the numbness could indicate damage, so it might be better to be a bit more gentle with yourself.

Something similar can happen after intercourse, but not necessarily - it depends how rough the two people like it ;-) The important thing is to be assertive about what you do or don't want, and not to let anyone persuade you to do anything you don't enjoy.

mine is like that sometimes too, if I have a really big orgasam I notice it more, I think I was told once that its because of the blood rushign to that area and it swells just like a penis does. So the tingling/numbness is just the swelling going down and the blood going back to normal.

the same thing happens to me after masturbating, although it's a bit more localized....usually after orgasm my clit (as opposed to the whole crotch area) is EXTREMELY sensitive to the touch for about 20-30 minutes. I've learned to just stay away from the area for awhile after climax, and I have told my boyfriend to do the same. Each woman is different, so your sensations are most likely completely normal for your individual body. I must say though I am glad to hear that someone else raised this question, as I have been wondering if anyone else had the same experience. I also am a virgin, although I think I have done everything except vaginal intercourse. Generally though, the only soreness I have is in the area of my clit and only for a brief time...I think (as someone else commented) that it is simply the area/nerve endings returning to their natural state from their excited state. Changes like that produce different feelings in different people.
