Alright, I'm new to this community. At first I wasn't going to join, but then thought it might be useful to have different suggestions and opinions on things which are on my mind. Anyways, I'm curious - I used to have my period every month.. and then all of a sudden I got it like, every other month.. then every 2 months, and so forth. Now I don't even get it at all. When this started, I wasn't sexually active, so I know it isn't a pregnancy. But now, I AM sexually active.. and although it's great because I can have sex anytime I want, I'm still sort of nervous that I don't have it. I think it's because I'm still growing or whatever (I'm 17) so maybe that's it?

fyi,

just because you're not bleeding every month, doesn't mean you aren't ovulating.

you can still, i repeat, STILL get pregnant. go to planned parenthood and get checked out. while you're there get some birthcontrol since you are sexually active... and remember to always use protection whether on birth control or not.

That happened to me when i was around your age. But I started out when I first got my period bleeding allt he time, like 3 weeks of bleeding and one free week, then all of a suddent it just slowed down, and now i'm 20, and don't ge a period, at all. I have never had it checked out though, I kinda don't want it fixed. I don't care if it means I can't have kids. If it means anything else serious though I'd like to know.

you probably should see a dr. about your irregularity. it could be nothing, or it could be something. i was very irregular - turned out i had a cyst on my ovary (let me tell you how painful they are when the rupture!). do yourself a favor, and see a gyno. going on the pill can help regulate and give you the peace of mind of knowing for sure you aren't pregnant. "a stitch in time saves 9!" good luck!
