but it isn't completely on tampons.

1. I've been reading up on tampons even more lately, and am pretty much determined to buy organic tampons in the future. Now, I started with Tampax (which suck ass) and moved to o.b. which I like *a lot*; I find them more comfortable because of how they expand. My question is this: Are there any natural/organic brands that expand in this manner? I seem to have a propensity towards heavy leakage with tampons that expand lengthwise (like Tampax) instead of width-wise.

2. Does anyone have any advice about how to make one's cycle more regular? I'm aware of the parsley tea thing, and I know going on birth control will regulate it, but birth control isn't an option for me right now (but it will be this time next year) and drinking two liters of parsley tea every month seems . . . unappetizing. I don't even want a "normal" 28 day cycle, just a regular one. It can take as long as it damn well pleases, as long as I know when it's coming. And yeah, I also know that irregular periods can be a sign of multiple diseases and disorders but . . . eh.

3. I just wanted to thank everyone here. I've always had an extremely negative perception of my period, because of the discomfort and mess it caused, as well as the fact that very few people seem open about it at all. Everyone here, while not always positive (*grins*), is always open and either curious or willing to answer questions. Not to mention the fact that I have yet to see a single flame war or immature argument or etc, when every other livejournal community seems to be full of ratty annoying people who like to badmouth others instead of answering questions respectfully and without derision . . . so anyway, thanks :)

Natracare seem to expand like OB. I think they're organic, but maybe they're just from sustainable ag farms.

for #3

i agree with you. this community is great. out of the huge number or people in here that might be PMSing or just depressed, there isn't that mess of arguments.

congrats everyone.

I'm glad it's to your liking! I feel very fortunate that so many good people have gravitated here.

Thanks!

I had irregular periods for the first few years. Worried my Mum so much [who was 100% regular from the first] that I was taken to a Gynecologist who said it was just my body settling down [14 1/2] - it took until I started the pill to settle down, 3 years later :) If you are dead on regular, then it goes haywire, then go for a check up. If you are worrying, go to the doctor too.

You do get used to when Ma Moon is visiting. I know when I am going to start bleeding - a feeling of fullness similar to needing the loo, apart from the occasional cramps et al. As long as I don't ignore it I always have time to get to a bathroom, even if it is 1/2 hour away.

As for the negative, well that is a modern view. This cycle my period lasted 4 days and I was almost annoyed when it finished, somehow felt cheated - why I don't know! Luckly my husband treats this time of month as an opertunity for alternatives ;)

Have you ever thought about using sea sponges? I've started in the past year and I love them so much. NO LEAKAGE!
