I'm going through this period (no pun intended) of "i have this power to create life...and i shouldn't be ashamed of this..."


lined with blood
the walls of her uterus contract
squeezing away the egg that once lay there
in a warm haven until the moon
pulled upon the tissue
pulled it from it’s haven
the woman weeps no tears
feeling the familiar pain well up
between her hip bones
inside her pelvic bones
the draw of the blood slipping away
as if she were slipping away herself
turning over
she closes her eyes and strives to sleep
