you know, i just realized that i wasn't nearly this screwed up before they changed my birth control pill. things are always the most messed up right before i start my period. i've looked back several months in my journal, back to where i started a new birth control pill almost a year ago, and it's always the same. i flip out and my moods are wild and out of control every month, right about the same time. the problems in christy and i's relationship started back then. she's said before that it seemed like i changed into a different person at one point in our relationship. i looked back to where that was, and i had just been changed to a different birth control pill. i've got to stop my birth control. i think that's the problem. i think that the pill i'm on is giving me "pmdd" like on that television commercial... or i could just be making excuses...

does anyone think that's possible? or am i full of crap?

Does it matter, as long as you think it'll help?

What was wrong with the birth control pill you were on before? And do you need it for health reasons, or would it be safe to go off it completely?

Oh, I definitely know what you mean. Can you talk to your doctor about it? Also...keep in mind you might not snap back to "normal" right away, it might take a while. Don't be disappointed if you go off the pill and it doesn't happen instantly. *hugs*

I've been extremely lucky -- haven't had any side effects from taking pills at all. I think if someone told me to switch brands I'd fight them tooth and nail. Eep.

Of course you're not full of crap. Hormones can mess with you. My own experience with birth control pills bears this out. I agree with everyone else - talk to your doctor and see if you can switch to something else.

There are lots and lots of ways to deal with painful periods. I'm sure you can get a lot of advice in this community.

I recently got on pills again. The last two times I have been on them the hormones have drove me nuts you might want to try Mercette its the most even of the hormones or even go for a non estrogen based BC Pill...I'm wishing they went back to the 32 day cycle those were great...I miss them.

so good you found that out! now you can do something about it.
i've switched pills some days ago, too, because i had violent mood swings and literally no libido, and i realized it's not stress or anything, it's the pill. (or at least i hope it is?)

good luck!
