I've known folks who get really gassy or get diarrhea. I think I did, years ago, but it wasn't an extreme reaction.

i get diarrhea and it sucks :-( i spent most of last night on the toilet and diarrhea is like 10x worse when you have cramps

I get gas and diarrhea when I'm on my period. I can't explain the gas but my anatomy teacher told us while we were covering the reporductive chapter that a lot of girls get diarrhea while on their period because the body is sending chemicals to that area to help the lining and blood be secreted. Because it's all in the same area some of those chemicals can get sent to the digrestive system causing you to crap before the liquids can be removed, causing diarrhea. Has anyone else heard this or is my anatomy teacher full of it? Oh yes and sorry to sound so gross but it's a natural function, something you shouldn't be ashamed of.

I rarely have a bowel movement, like once a week (and i'm a vegitarian, even) and when i have my period I have one everyday. Kinda scary... I wonder the scientific reason for this... contractions of the uterus or something? Damn I'm premed, i should know.
