Hi all...I'm new here...I was just wondering about something. For about6 or 7 months now about a week or so before my period starts I get one or two monsterously nastly pimples. It's really annoying, because they're the kind that you can't even cover up with make up...I know that it's normal to break out right before your period, but this only started with me a few months ago. Is there anything that I can do to get them to stop appearing? Will going on birth control help control it? any answers would be greatly appreciated!

Birth control pills help a lot of people with pre-menstral zits, including me. One of the Ortho ones has been officially tested and is advertized a lot, but a lot of the others work to.

Also, a friend had a dermatoligist recomend face/body wash that has salicylic acid for zits. I use a Neutrogena acne wash that has the salicylic acid in it.

Keep in mind too that they can stop as suddenly as they started. I know for a while, in my early 20s I used to get one giant zit on my chin just before my period...it was so huge I even nicknamed it "China." Sometimes it was accompanied by a companion zit on the other side of my chin, nicknamed "Canada." And as suddenly as they started appearing, they stopped. The pimples may just go away on their own.
