i think alesse is my miracle pill.
this is day three in the hut for me, and my first period since switching from triquilar to alesse...

usually the first three days of my period are the heaviest... but this time around it's about five times lighter than usual (!) - no clots at all, no dark dark blood... this makes me very happy because i've always had really heavy periods that left me anemic for the week.
part of me says this is my new pill and i shouldn't worry about my period being a lot lighter than usual... but a little part of me worries too much - do you think i should take a pregnancy test anyways? i know that you can bleed even though you're pregnant, and it's usually lighter... this is more than spotting so i'm not that worried. i guess it's just weird for me to have such a light period, so i naturally start to think that something's wrong with me ;) has anyone who's using alesse noticed that their flow has gotten lighter? i know i probably have nothing to worry about but...

i also haven't had any noticeable side effects on alesse... on triquilar i had extremely sore breasts for the first three months, and cRaZy mood swings which lasted (i now realize) throughout the whole year that i was on it. on alesse, i've already noticed that my mood swings are less frequent... i'm not crying nearly as much as i was, and not biting people's heads off nearly as frequently :P i hope it stays that way. i guess maybe the lower amount of hormones in this pill is playing a part. that's good for me. also, no breakthrough bleeding so far (which i was worried about with the lower dose of hormones) so that's awesome.

oh yeah, i used the playtex heat therapy patches for the first time yesturday, and oh my god they helped a lot. i've always had really bad cramps... popped two pamprin, and yesturday was surprisingly tolerable. whee :)

I was on Alesse when I first started taking the pill. It made my periods lighter and I didn't notice any mood swings...it was great. But because of the low dose of hormones I had breakthrough bleeding about 4 months into it. So my doc switched me to Ortho Tri-cyclen...and that was 4 years ago. I haven't had any problems with the tri-cyclen at all.

I don't think you have anything to worry about =P
Unless you were having unprotected sex or missed taking the pill I don't think you're pregnant...My period was a lot lighter when I was on Alesse.

I hope Alesse works out for you!

i have been on alesse for a couple of months, and i also think it made me bleed way less. usually it hit me for five days really heavy, clots and all that awfulness, then the next three days sort of tapered away. on alesse it's like two or three heavy days and tapering away a few days after that. still totally sucks and makes me feel ill at first, but much better than before.
