Yeast Infections suck.

Yes I know this isn't the yeast hut...it's the menstral hut...but it's all related to the "down there" area...so please bear with me as I bitch about it.

So I took my little pill last night...and now I have this cream stuff. My doctor says to rub it all the way in.....

Have you noticed that the skin in that area isn't...how shall we say...absorbant???

So I use this "smaller than a pea" amount...and I still feel like I'm either horny or having my period cuz it's just wet down there. It's hard for me to just deal with. I have this intense urge to go to the bathroom and just wipe it all away...but I know it's helping.....

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Okay...thoughts on this topic would be appreciated....but I just needed to get all of that off my chest.

Love love love,

Vicky

every time i take antibiotics, i get a yeast infection.

i heard (read?) somewhere that there is a one-time pill that is very effective against yeast infections. that sounds much more pleasant than the 7-day monistat routine.

I think it's Diflucan or something like that.

Thanks, about the userpic ... found the big picture somewhere on the web and trimmed it down to a upserpic from there. I should see about finding that again...

What you eat makes a differenc....
Yougurt and cranberry juice help.
Also if you can try not to eat bread products
made with yeast or baking soda/powder while your
healing. Matzo(which is flour, salt and water and sometimes eggs)which is used for passover and can usually be found in most Jewish markets or in the "Cultural" section of your grocery if you have an enlightened grocery and sometimes in the health section is a good substitute.... Sorry for the run on sentance....

No problem. I've been there once or twice and it really cut down on my suffering(both timewise and intensity)so why not pass it on?

for a long time i got yeast infections like, once a month (and boy did that suck), and i finally figured out that it was related to my birth control pill. no one had ever told me that yeast infections could be a side effect, so i didn't connect it in my mind. i stopped taking the pill and stopped getting infections. it was wonderful.

is your infection related to the pill or just one of those danged, irritating, freakish, bothersome incidences?

i get one every single time i'm on antibiotics (which isn't often, thank god). i just use the "one dose" from monistat and it takes care of it quickly. of course, i usually know when one is coming (when i take the antibiotics), so i can stop it before it gets too itchy.

One thing that really eases the pain of those for me is vinegar baths. Fill the tub with water as hot as you can stand, pour in some white vinegar, and mmmmmm. Feels a lot better.

Hope you feel better, too.
