i got very sick 1 oe 2 days before my period, temp of 102, strep throat, everything fun. would this cause me to skip my period? because i've been very paranoid lately. i saw in a post below in comments that illness could be a factor but i wanted to make sure so i could get things off my mind. i'm usually only a day late with my period but now it's 3 and i need some answers so i can stop thinking about it when i'm sitting here. thanks. <3

When you say "usually" only a day late, does that mean you're a day late every single month? In that case, it's only two days late this time, based on your normal schedule. If you're sometimes a day "late" and sometimes not, then a two-day swing isn't unexpected, either -- you're almost-but-not-quite regular. Especially considering that you've been sick, it's completely within reason that your period schedule would be thrown off. Give it a few more days before starting to wonder.

yeah. give yourself time, but also, if you're worried that you might be pregnant- spend the $15 on the test- you can get the kind that'll tell you a day after you're "supposed" to get your period- i got the kind with the three tests in it, so that i could double check myself a week later too. sometimes worrying about whether or not your period is going to come makes it even later. but serriously, unless you think there's a reason you might be pregnant, don't sweat it. periods do the irregular thing a lot...

(and this is a really good place to come to if you think you might be pregnant and need to freak out. everyone here is good about soothing and logical answers to questions...)

My periods get weird when I'm sick and have them-they come later than usual, or are much lighter than usual. It may just be because you're ill.

If you're consistently "one day late" perhaps it's not late, but that that's when your period wants to come?

Why is 29 days weird? Most women have a cycle that lasts anywhere from 26-35 days...but more or less than that is also perfectly normal for some women.

Many people have been hapy with cyclespages.com. When I tracked mine I did it with a calendar.
