heres something i never understood:
all of the pads that are made for the night are big and everything, more than the ones you'd use during the day... but usually when i get my period, i can go to bed with a pad on and everything and when i wake up, there wont be any blood on it... but a few minutes after im out of bed, i get the most blood out. im guessing its because you lay down during the night and the blood doesnt flow down... and it only comes out when im standing... but its obviously not like that for most women because i see so many huge pads made for nights. it just seems weird to me that everyone needs extra protection during the night when i bleed even less at night than i do during the day.
is anyone else like this?

The blood will trickle to the lowest point otherwise.
The longer pad keeps me slightly safe, but not much.

Date: 2003-05-10 06:20 pm (UTC)but i know that mom always uses the super night ones because she's a heavy bleeder.
actually, i know alot of women who use the nightly ones all day. maybe they just marketed them as "nightly" pads so women wouldnt feel badly about themselves for wearing larger and thicker pads. the larger the pad, the more its assumed that you bleed and the "grosser" it is. its all about society making women ashamed of their cycles.
just a thought.

I use the "overnight" ultra-thin, extra-long pads for most of my cycle and have felt weird buying them.
I like them because they do the job very well and I never stain my undies like I used to wearing the "regular" pads.
