This may sound weird, but does anyone else's vagina almost burn when they are having their period?

Recently I've been noticing that every time I have my period, I get really uncomfortable down there and it has an almost burning sensation sometimes. It's not because of the pads or tampons, either. Do anyone know why I could be feeling this way? Is there something wrong, or just another way my body is screaming at me (I have awful cramps, too)?

Any help/advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I get something similar when I'm on my period, although I'm not sure what causes it. I get this uncomfortable throbbing sensation down there. It's not painful, but it's by no means pleasant. I have to assume that the alkaline nature of the uterus has something to do with sensations of this type, but that's just a guess based on nothing I've read. Maybe someone else might know.

Have you seen a gyno about it? Yours might have an answer...

Nope, I haven't been to my gyno yet. It seems to occur as my pad is filling up, almost like I have an allergic reaction to my own uterine lining. And if I go to the bathroom and wipe it all away, I feel fine for a couple of hours (my period is really light right now) or whenever the blood actually seeps down to the opening to my vagina. It's weird. Hm, I'll have to read up on the alkaline stuff. That could very well be it. Thanks for the idea!

I get a sort of throbbing sensation too. Its not bad, but it is noticable. I've no idea what causes it though.
