Because this was a problem for me before and I know it's going to come up again:

What is the best way to get bloodstains out of clothing?

It always annoyed me to no end to lose so many cute/comfy pairs of undies because my period would show up unannounced.

Right after you notice the blood stain, put them in Cold water - this should remove it. Other wise if it set - Oxy Clean .. that stuff Rocks! Will get blood out of most anything!

i use cloth pads so i am an expert at getting blood stains out of things. what's most important is soaking the clothes in cold, cold water as soon as you can. for my cloth pads, i let them soak, and right before i put 'em in the washer i use a natural stain remover - since they're goin right by my cooch i don't want to use peroxide or chemical cleaner or anything...and when the washing cycle is done, they're all clean!

Scrubbing with cold water has always worked for me. Hot water will set the stains, though.

Soaking things in the sink with cold salt water seems to work for me. I don't know why, and I've never heard of anyone else doing this (besides the person who told me about it), but it gets the blood stains out.

for me, if that happens it's always when i get up in the morning. so i immediately go fill the sink with cold water, let it soak a bit, scrub... and voila, no more spots :)

Why can't you continue wearing undies once they're stained?

I mean, I realize you wouldn't want to wear stained underwear when your underthings might be on display ... but it's not as if a pair is *ruined* just because it's stained.

But, to answer your question, I like OxyClean. Put some in the washer, let it agitate and then put the clothes in, leave the lid up and let the clothes soak for 15-30 minutes. Does a decent job.

I'm not a member of this community, I'm just visiting.

I have a set of stained underwear that I wear during my period. When I feel it might be coming I wear dark underwear so the stains won't show and then I wear my "period panties" for the extent of my period. I figure I'm kinda feeling gross already, why wear pretty panties?
