DivaCup/Keeper question (crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] vaginapagina)

I was just wondering if anyone here has tried the DivaCup/Keeper, and if you could make a recommendation on it. I'm thinking of switching, as I hate the waste and discomfort of tampons (as well as how unnatural they are -- why would I want chlorine being absorbed into my vagina?), and can't stand wearing pads.

So my primary questions are:
Do you like it?
Is it as convenient as they say?
Do you need a (light?) pad when wearing it?

Of course, any and all feedback is more than welcome. :)

I LOVE MY KEEPER! It is extremely convenient for me, since I can go as long as 24 hours without emptying it. It reduces cramps. And I sleep naked and never make stains. Stays in place when I dance and participate on the fencing team. Makes me stop worrying about my period. See [livejournal.com profile] the_keeper.

Nope, that includes heavy days for me, though I think I'm rare. Most people empty it every 12 hours. And there really is no risk of infection at all because it's nonporus and doesn't trap bacteria. Your vagina's pretty clean in the first place anyway, and this doesn't change that vagina's interior the way a tampon would.

That is more unclear, but I can't tell you how many people report it. Partly I blame the irritation of a tampon, partly the chemicals in the tampon. the Keeper allows your period to drip out on its own accord rather than be drawn out by absorbancy. And even then, the Keeper seems to shorten periods too.

I heart my keeper (actually diva cup but hey.) its so beautiful. once i learned how to use it and developed my own technique, i dont think i will ever go back to tampons. just too inconvenient. i never leak and can keep it in forever. its great. and there is no disposal harmful to the environment.
