menstrualhutjust a question about discharge. ugh :P
i get odd discharge when im on the pill. i take the lowest dosage of hormones and its called Alesse... the substitute is called Aviane. I went to my gyn last week and i have no problems or anything although she did prescribe a higher dosage hormone pill starting next month.. that one is called Mircette
so the question.. it doesnt smell. it doesnt itch. and its white. but it comes out in like... pieces? not like a yeast infection, ive had one of those before and know what it looks like. its just.. white... pieces. lol i cant describe it. does anyone else have this problem when on the pill? when i wasnt on the pill, in between periods i used to be really wet ALL the time even if i wasnt horny. now i just get these.. pieces. and i dont get wet much at all.. i dunno. it disturbs me and i feel insecure with myself and im always afraid to let my boyfriend touch or see me cause of these white PIECES. agh it drives me mad.
i think they only occur during the first two weeks, but the third week before my period i think its normal from what i remember.
so, you think changing pills might change this? my doctor said something like i might still be getting too much estrogen.. i cant remember :P but im changing to Mircette.

Date: 2003-06-01 09:50 am (UTC)Discharges change depending on your fertility. Because the pill affects your fertility, I would expect your discharges to change as a reflection of that.
If you really don't like this kind of discharge, it might be worth asking your doctor to prescribe different pill to see if that will change it.
Hmm, and does anyone know a nicer word than "discharge"? It really doesn't sound attractive.

Date: 2003-06-01 05:04 pm (UTC)Although I didn't have the pieces/chunky (that's even more gross sounding sorry) discharge that you describe, I did have a lot of just like... mucus during certain parts of the month (generally the time I would be ovulating if I wasn't on the pill.) I too, am on Mircette (or the generic, whose name escapes me currently.) The gyn said not to worry, assured me that my pill will keep me from getting pregnant... and uh, that was all the reassurance that I had. It was just one of those things, apparently.
This has been totally unhelpful. Just thought I would share that it happened to someone else too :)
