ugh.... i don't like my period.
k i use pads now, and i'm starting to feel like i wear a diaper. :( but i don't have time to change my tampon every hour and a half (that's how often i need to change when i wear them) i want to change to tampons or get better pads or something.
anyone have any suggestions?

if you want to stick with pads always with wings is pretty thin but has lots of protection...you can just get the regular size. for tampons i always use OB without applicators regular but if you have a really heavy flow go up to the super. You can also get a multi pack to use during your different flows. Hope that helps!

erm.... maybe use them together? you'll either think that's a great idea, or else that it's totally gross *g*

ob also has an Ultra size, which has a purple/blue stripe on the box (super plus is yellow, super is green, and regular is pink). Even on my heaviest days I can go for at least two hours on one of those, usually three or four. The Ultra size is a little harder to find, but they're worth it.

cloth pads are totally comfortable and since they're cloth like underwear, they just FEEL like undies, not like a diaper. you could get a keeper that you wouldn't have to empty out very often (once or twice a day) instead of how often you change your pads...

I second the idea of a keeper, try looking at
www.thekeeper.com
or www.mooncup.co.uk for a silicon version,

there are also insteads which I think are disposable so will be good to see if you like the idea. Both keeper and mooncup do a 3 month money back guarantee as well if you dont like it.

I used strictly pads for 7 years ever since I started my period when I was 14....then I got sick of the diaper effect, so after asking around this LJ community I got brave enough to try tampons. Every single lady here who replied to my many questions about tampons recommended O.B. brand....so that's what I tried and I LOVE them. I use OB Regulars mostly, occasionally I use Supers for days that are especially heavy. I use the applicator type...I tried some without applicators after I've been using applicators, and I just couldn't get used to it. It's a personal thing, I guess....but I do know that OB tampons in Regular size (w/ or w/o applicator) are great for first-time tampon users. Also, I still do wear pads sometimes...when I don't feel like wearing tampons I wear Stay-Free pads with wings, the "4-wall" kind...they're really soft and not plasticky against my skin, so they feel like I'm just wearing regular underwear...I always wear those to bed. Even with tampons I usually wear a really ultra thin pad just as backup protection against the occasional leak. OB generally doesn't leak at all, but sometimes just because of body shapes or various activity, a little leak will slip through. All that aside, I must say that in the long run I am SO much happier now that I wear tampons!! They're so freeing. Anyway...yes....I think this reply is long enough, hehehe. :-) Good luck!
