I scheduled a consultation meeting at Planned Parenthood on Friday to talk about switching birth control methods. Right now I'm on Depo Provera and I want to seek out something that won't make me gain weight as much as Depo did. I'm not saying it's the BC's fault, but it didn't not help either.

What sort of questions should I ask when I'm there? Now I think I can handle taking a pill everyday now that I'm settled into a new place, school, and work. The other question is whether there really is a birth control method (pill form) that doesn't cause weight gain? I know nothing about pills and shame on me for not doing any homework yet but I figure this would be a good place to ask :)

I've been on Low-Ogestrel (the generic for LO/Ovral 28) for almost a year now and I haven't gained any weight. I think it depends on the person, kinda like the side effects are different from person to person. My mom told me she gained weight when she went on the pill but I haven't. I don't know if that helps but good luck!!! :)

It all depends on the person, though low-doses tend to have less side effects. I didn't gain any weight for the five years I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen, and it didn't inhibit me losing weight, either.
