The best immediate remedies I've ever had have been chamomile tea and moderate exercise, like a steady walk. And deep breaths. The best long-range remedies for me have been the Pill, and regular exercise.
For back cramps, I find that exersize is the best solution. Nothing strenuous, maybe take a brisk walk or some yoga. For bloating, drink plenty of water every day of the month, and up your water drinking right before. It helps flush your system. It works for me. I hope you feel better.
Sounds good; thanks! I wouldn't know how it works, as my period's reasonably nice to me; I asked on behalf of a friend. But I'll keep this in mind just in case.
Chamomile tea with honey, 2 advil, and a calcium tab usually nails it for me.
if I feel mine coming, I get PMS REALLY badly, I take an herbal pill mom found, its called Black Cohosh, and it works AMAZINGLY well. I take it as soon as I feel cramping or mood swings, and it evens me right out, its wonderful. Its just also really expensive, you can find it at any health store, I get mine at GNC.
This link (http://www.yoga.com/ydc/enlighten/enlighten_document.asp?ID=74§ion=9&cat=93) includes yoga poses recommended for during menstruation (it's towards the bottom of the article). Yoga often helps me. Hope you feel better!
I find that Aleve works fabulously for both. It's meant for muscle pain (aka cramps).. but I find that my bloating is tied in with my cramps.. so if one goes, they both do..
