i sometimes get infected and/or ingrown hair follicles on my mons. they get really hot, red, swollen and tender. the only way i can take care of them is to pull the hairs out of that particular follicle with a pair of tweezers. (that sounds painful, but doesn't hurt at all compared to the horrible stabbing, pinching pain that touching the bump causes.) i used to get these every couple of months, but then i started shaving all of my hair off down there. i shaved religiously every day and didn't get a bump for several years while i did this. back in January i stopped shaving everything, and now this. does anyone else suffer from this, and what if anything can be done to prevent them besides shaving? also, i have more than one hair growing out of each of my follicles, but only on my genital area. could that be what's causing it?

I know this is kind of unrelated to menstruation, but it is related to women. I've posted this in at least one other community right now, and will put it in others, so if you see it a lot, I'm sorry.

Planned Parenthood has a "Take Action" section on their main page. They're currently supporting a bill that would require hospitals across the nation to give survivors of rape and incest the morning-after pill (aka. emergency contracpetion). This would prevent up to 22 thousand pregnancies. If you're interested in supporting this bill, go to plannedparenthood.org, and click on that section about midway down the page. There's a form you can fill out and auto send an email to your congressperson.

Thanks for listening!

hiya.

i'm new.

i went to planned parenthood the other day for my annual, some testing, and my first packs of birth control pills (ortho-cyclen). i'm going to be a first day starter, i think.

everything was free, which was really super.

i'm kind of terrified that the pills will make me gain 5,000,000,000lbs. i hope they work for my skin. i can't wait to get started. me = dork.

anyway, hello.

Tired, horny, irritable, and vaguely sore. What a great combination for getting any work done today.

Hm...

... the past two months I've bled black. Well, black with little smudges of red, specially at the beginning, but largely black. I've seen it mentioned before, and I've had blood that was brown before, so I'm not too concerned... but I would like my body to note that my mind doesn't like it, aesthetically speaking...

... that's all, I suppose.

Planned Parenthood takes care of the vaginas and health concerns of many women here.

I'm wondering if anyone here works for PP, volunteers there, generally knows a lot about the organization, or knows someone who does who would be willing to answer a few questions for an inquisitive research-paper-writer.

E-mail, IMs (amyisqueer), ICQ messages (39323514), or comments to this post on the subject would be more appreciated than you know.

Hmm..

Has anyone else had this problem?

Every day since i've started taking the pill, I get sick at about 9:45am and it lasts until about 11:30am. I get nasuous, bad cramps, and it literally hurts to move. It hurts more than the cramps I get for my period which is actually why I'm taking the pill.

I know things like this are somewhat commen, but daily at a particualr time? No one told me about that. Am I werid or would this be considered semi-normal?

Also the pills make me very sleepy, and I can't conentrate. Yestreday I can't remember half the day becuase the pills made me so sleepy I just fazed everything out. Once again commen or not?
