NuvaRing

I finally caved in and I'm using hormonal birth control.

I have really nasty, painful periods, and they are getting worse, and I've become allergic to the Lortab I was using. So my doc recommended that I use the NuvaRing to suspend menstruation, and only menstruate every three or four months.

I put it in on Friday, and so far I am really happy with it. I don't feel it at all. This makes me sort of paranoid so I've been checking on it every once in awhile.

If you are going to have an adverse reaction to hormones, how long does it take? Some people have told me that it goes bad for them right away, but four days into this I'm feeling fine.

I haven't had sex with it in yet, but I don't foresee any problems. I have been feeling more horny than usual... if this is a side effect, I like it :) I'm looking forward to not using condoms anymore with my primary. This week we're going to go for another HIV/STD test and if we both come back negative then we'll ditch the condoms.

So at this point I am happy with NuvaRing. Has anyone else here used it?

question:

my boobs have been hurting for the past week or so. it's not pms time for me, it's ovulating time, and i don't usually get that for a pms thing anyway. i don't have big boobs, so it's not that they're not supported. and i haven't had sex since i last had my period, so i highly doubt that i'm pregnant. so why do they hurt?!!? they hurt kind of on the outer-underside of both of them, kind of like a muscle ache. but it's been going on for too long to be a muscle thing either, besides the fact that i really can't remember doing anything that would make my pecs hurt... any diagnoses?

Am I the only one whose PMS symptoms resemble pregnancy more than PMS?

Ok here's the deal, My period has always been regular ever since I first got it which was 5 years ago or so. It has always been regular, except for the first few months. It goes like this...

1st day: Medium (flow wise.)
2nd day: Really super heavy
3rd day: Same as 2nd day
4th day: Same as first day
5th day: A little bit lighter than 4th day.
6th day: A little bit lighter.
7th & 8th day (yes 8 days, wonderful isn't it?) is very light and barely there.

Now last month, which started the 13th of May, was so different. The first day was like it always is, medium, but it was surprisingly the worst day of all. 2nd day was lighter, which surprised me ALOT. 3rd day was a little bit heavier, and then the 4th and 5th days were barely there and it went away!

now my question is.. has anyone's period changed flow wise? i'm a little worried, since i'm sexually active, although we always use condoms, i'm just a very paranoid person and i've heard you can get your period and be pregnant at the same time. i'm due on friday, but i wanted to know beforehand if this is normal, and/or if it's happened to anyone and/or they know whats going on.. Thank you!

Hey guys, I just recently discovered a great remedy.
You know that diaper rash thing you get when wearing pads?
I found that rubbing baby oil on the affected area works wonders! It relieves the irritation, and leaves skin soft :)
Anyway I hope that helps

Ummm yeah

hey.. i already posted in the amipregnant community, but i saw your response to a similar question and it was so friendly that i decided to post mine. i'm completely spazzing.. about a week after my last period i had unprotected sex for maybe 2 minutes, no ejaculation.. now my boyfriend is in the hospital and i won't be able to talk to him for a while, my parents aren't talking to each other, finals are coming up in school and there's so much pressure, i've been really stressed for countless other reasons.. but my period's never been affected by stress, and now it's a day late and i'm so, so worried. i can even see my belly protruding out and aahh. how normal is it for a period to be delayed by stress? i'm sooo scared to the point that i can't think about anything else. (yes, definitely overreacting.) also, what are the chances, really, that i'm pregnant?
thank you..
