Hey everyone -- I've been lurking for a while and I had a question about birth control pills:

Does anyone else ever skip the week of placebo pills in their pack and just continue on to the next pack? I did it the first time to avoid having my period while I was traveling, but since then I do it every other month, so I get my period every 7th week, instead of every 4th week.

There's a recent article here, describing how some doctors think its unnecessary to have a period while on BC pills. Thoughts?

so, uhm, dumb question...I started my Micronor this month and have come down to the last week... the pills aren't the ever-helpful color-coded kind -- they're all green...
should I be expecting my period any day now --I'm in the last week of the pack...?

or does Micronor work differently?

So i've developed what seems to be a boil or pimple on my labia. It's sort of hard, feels fluid-filled, and the skin's a little stretched there though it hasn't formed a "head." It doesn't really hurt unless i touch it, but it itches some. I'm getting it checked out at the campus clinic (just mainly to reassure m'self it's nothing i could have passed on to my boy, though the chances of that i think are slim-to-none as we both are each other's only partener, ever; though no, we don't use condoms, and yes, i know we should) but I can't really think of anything else it *could* be other than a pimple/boil.

What else can do this? I was thinking.. maybe it formed because my skin was irritated by some of the lotion we were using? Or just decided to pimple randomly?... What else could do this? Input/advice/reassurance?

My period's been so weird this month. My last two periods were both about a month late, and quite heavy as a result, but this one was right on time. Normally my first two days are heavy and it sort of tapers off over the last two, but it's almost as if it's going in reverse this month. My first two days were spotty and fairly light, it was fairly steady but not too heavy yesterday, and it's gotten heavier and more continuous today.

Sigh.

I think my body just likes to mess with my head sometimes.
