I've been reading some random health information, and some of what I've come across seems to imply that a vegetarian and healthy (vs. the fast food french-fry vegetarian) diet will seriously improve pms symptoms, especially physical symptoms such as cramping. I'm not a vegetarian or vegan and that isn't an option for me at this time for reasons I won't go into here, but I'm curious - for those of you who stopped eating meat and other animal products, did you find this diet change reduced your cramps?

I have a couple of questions, and i'm hoping someone, or everyone can help me with expertise..

I'm 16yrs old, not sexually acitve. My period's been irregular since I got it (i think i was 11 or 12). I get killer migraines, and get horrible sudden anxiety/depression just before it starts. And when it finally does, it is heavy for a week, and i have cramps that keep me out of school doubled up in pain at home. I've tried midol, it doesn't help. I've tried ibuprofen, tylenol, all that otc painkiller stuff, and nothing helps any of it.
I'm worried most about the anxiety/depression because it is very sudden and intense, but the cramps and migraines are just as bad sometimes.

Would birth control pills help with all of this? If not, is there anything that will? 4 years have been way too much for me, and if I'm going to have to deal with this into my 50s, I think I'm going to end up getting a hystorectemy. (sorry about the spelling)

thanks a lot!

so now i have another question. i think i'm over the PID scare. the past 2 periods i've had terrible PMS. the thing is it never used to affect my moods very much, but i was cranky, crying easily... coincidentally i spent both of my PMSs with my girlfriend and i was too cranky with her, she said it was ok, but i felt bad. i don't want PMS to rule my life. what can i do to prevent this? also, can a couple of cups of coffee a week affect me that much? that's really the only thing i can think of (this is my first semester at college) when during my cycle would it affect me the most? thanks:)

i'm new!

i couldn't seeing anything relating to this in memories...

my period was always regular..it starts on wednesday, heavy until friday, gradually getting lighter until sunday and it's pretty much completely gone monday (possible spotting if i ate junkfood all weekend). But in the last year it has changed a bit.. it will still get lighter and it will seem to be gone by sunday afternoon, but monday and tuesday the flow seems to go from very light to medium... i don't know why.. it usually won't last more than a couple of hours, but it is still strange. Now could this be because of my pill?

i used to use the pill (tricyclen 4 week) when i was younger.. i stopped for a year and started again last year. I've been on the tricyclen 3 week pill for the last year, and i only started realizing this change about 6 months ago... i thought it was because me and my boyfriend would have sex during my period and that would irritate me or something and i woudl just bleed more, but these last couple of months we haven't done that and i still get this weird bleeding after my period seems to be done (very irritating!)

thank you for your help :)
