Hello there!

I'm a new member over at this community. Looks like I have some problems regarding my menstrual cycle. For starters, I'm 20 this year, going on to 21 next March.

First of all, I have just lost my virginity early this month, and my boyfriend and I were going like bunnies since then. About 11-12 days ago, we had unprotected sex, but I took Plan B the very next day (and I know I took it correctly). According to the nurse, it was quite late in my cycle when that happened and it was very unlikely that I would get pregnant. Then, on last Tuesday, my boy found some blood on his condom and I got a very thick discharge after having sex.

Anyway, I have a *quite* regular cycle of 30-35 days, and the last time I had my period was on the 21st of November. Therefore, I'm supposed to get my period these few days. Over the last weekend, I kept having cramps in my lower abdominal area and I thought my period was going to come. Also, there is a slightly brownish discharge on my underwear. I also get all sorts of pre-menstrual symptoms such as getting some zits, being emotional and being constantly hungry. However, my period hasn't shown up yet. Needless to day, my boy and I are already freaking out over a possible pregnancy.

Also, I'm waiting for my period to come so that I can start taking my Microgynon 30. Any comments about Microgynon 30?

Here are some questions:
1. I've heard that having sex for the very first time can push a girl's period back. Is that true?
2. How far can Plan B (the ECP I took) push back a period? Is it normal not to have any bleeding after taking Plan B? The nurse told me that I might have some light spotting, but I didn't experience any.
3. Is the brownish discharge normal before a period? I hardly pay attention to my undies before this, so I couldn't know for sure.

Thanks in advance.

Well, I read the memories about depo-provera and they aren't very comforting! I mean, my doctor told me about all the side-effects including depression, so I shouldn't really be so freaked out by other people who experienced the possibilities she outlined. But now I am. Anyway, that's beside the point of this post.

I got my first depo-provera injection a little under two weeks ago, and I've been bleeding ever since. Which I know was a side effect, I once bled for a month when starting a pill, which is okay. But the pharmacist told me it may last for up to six months??? Did he mean straight? (Yes, I should have asked HIM this at the time). How long did you girls who are on the shot bleed for after starting it. Does anyone have any GOOD experiences? How soon did the depressive effects start to kick in?

Thanks so much for your help,
Shannon

I know this might sound weird, but having my period makes me feel like such a woman. I have a very irregular cycle and can't take hormones to control it because of a psychiatric condition -- so I generally get a period about every six to ten months. When I get them, they are horrifically painful and heavy -- but at least I have one. Because normal women bleed.

thank goddess I finally have my period today!

I've had spotting on and off, so i kept my divacup in for most of the month. I have my period now, but it feels like i have to pee ALL the time. I think this has to do w/ my divacup, somewhat ... maybe it's pushing on my bladder in some strange way or something.

I've taken it out and am making do w/ a pad. I hate that. I'm nota pad kind of girl. Ever since i could (since my mother let me), i've been wearing tampons. I hate going back.

Has anyone had this before? Did you find it was related to your menstrual cup?

(I have no burning or anything when i pee ... or i'd think it's a bladder infection or something. I've had those before; this doesn't hurt. It's just annoying as hell).
