Yay, I'm in the hut...a week early. This never happens. My cycle is usually pretty regular.

I remember one thing that happened about two years ago. My cycles had been pretty uneventful around that time, until one time my period was about 2 or three weeks late (I was having regular, but protected, intercourse at the time). WHen my period finally did come, it was REALLY heavy, and REALLY painful, and lasted just over 2 weeks (it normally lasts 5 days). I went to the doctor, and after doing an ultrasound and various other tests to make sure nothing was seriously wrong, the doctor determined that the only probable explanation was that I had miscarried.

So that's pretty much it for weird period stories from me, I'd better go to bed. Cheers!

Today is my period's tenth birthday. In 1995, I was twelve years old and suffering from a devilish case of the chicken pox. I had this weird stomachache to go with it, and it kept me awake for hours. The next morning I dragged my feverish self to the bathroom and....

I can't understand why so many people say they couldn't wait to get their periods and stuff. I dreaded it ever since my mother clarified this certain vague paragraph in my Girl Scout book. I was like, "You've got to be kidding me, right? BLOOD comes out of me every month for the rest of my life? IS THIS A NASTY JOKE??" I made a pact with myself to never become an adult, a boring, humorless grownup with an annoying leaky body.

I find it very funny and ironic that I should cross the rubicon of womanhood while suffering from a primarily childhood disease. I decided I should remember the date forever.

So much has changed. )

What is the best way to deal with menorrhagia?
It seems as though it has come back since coming off the pill, using a cup means it's far less trouble than what it was, but I leaked this morning coming out of bed and it's accompanied with some aches.
I take multivitamins with iron, I will be attempting to change my diet to include more whole grains and root vegetables, but I want to find something else to help, unfortunately I cannot drink herbal tea so if I were to look at herbal remedies it would have to be something that I could get in capsule form.

Oh crap. Well it's official. The red fairy will be visiting tomorrow as her RSVP guy Stomach Twister is calling. So much for Valentine's lovin.

Anyone else get that queasy/mild crampage/fatiguiness the day before the real stuff kicks in? It's a great indicator that my period is coming so that I can prepare for it, but it just plain sucks!

Hi I'm new and I just have a quick question...

I got my period today and started my birth control pills and my period stopped. 3 or 4 people told me this is normal. Is it?

Thanks ahead of time.
