I just started taking Diane 35 - anyone else on it? So far the only problem I'm having is that my period hasn't stopped yet and I'm starting on day 9. While this sucks, if it goes away in a cycle or two I'm not worried.

Good or bad experiences anyone?

Has anyone tried Diane 35? I was just put on it a while ago and I dont know if its a side effect from the pill but Ive been having strange food cravings (McDonalds) and other times the thought of some other food (cauliflower) makes me nauseated.

in case anyone was interested, i was going to type up the pamphlet i have on progesterone, but i found that it was copyrighted. so, instead, you can go to the author site and read it all there.

Many thanks to the person who posted the acidophilus tabs up the yaa-yaa (my fave term for it...) as a cure for yeast infections. I was not hip to that and I have to say I do believe I've been liberated. Liberated! Between the pill and antibiotics from a throat infection, I got on the yeast train around August 2001 and didn't get off until I tried the acidophilus thing last week. Quick, easy, inexpensive and, so far, effective. Thanks again.

acupressure

Acupressure is like acupuncture, but with no needles. You put pressure using a finger tip on any one of many points on your body, and this decreases the symptoms you may be feeling. It's not a cure exactly, but it does help a whole lot, and is especially useful when you find yourself without painkillers. There are a few points listed for menstruation, so I figured this would be a good link to share.

This site has a lot of general info, and a popup thing where you can choose your symptoms and it will suggest points to use.

This site has a list of all the points and their uses.

I was thinking about starting to use "Instead" menstrual cup or The Keeper Which is better? And can anyone tell me, if they've used it what they though of it, and any negatives aspects with it.
ie. discomfort, insertion troubles, smell, or just a general ickness overall with either product.
also is "Instead" (since they're dispoable) enviromentally friendly?

Ok, I'm not a paid user, so I can't make any kind of official poll. Anyhow, personally I love the off-topic posts here. But, as witnessed by someone's earlier post, that's not the case with everyone. I was thinking about founding a community for women's health where anything relating to a woman's body can be discussed, with an emphasis on self-help, shared information, and natural medicine. It looks like there isn't anything like this at the moment already. Creating this community would take the off-topic posts out of this community into a space where only interested people would see them. At the same time, it might fragment the women's lj community. What do you think, would this be a welcome outlet for off-topic posts, or would it only serve to fragment this awesome community that we've created? Thanks.

The slightest thing can make me up to 10 days late, such as having a cold, not sleeping well etc. (I think my record for being late was 23 days, which really is almost like missing one).
My cycle is long at around 33-40 days, which annoys me, because I'm usually afflicted with PMS for almost 2 weeks. And of course, when I'm late the PMS drags on and on...
(I wouldn't mind if the PMS would be late too, but that doesn't happen).

I think something goes on in my body that delays the onset of menstruation, because I seem to ovulate regularly, and have pms at around the same time each month, it's just the bleeding that takes it's time coming.

I'm in PMS mode now but not at full force yet LOL, my period's due in about 10 or 12 days.
Anyone know any ways to reduce menstrual cycle length besides the pill? (and white underwear hehe)

want to understand your cycle and sexual response better? there are no better publications that I've seen than _A New View of a Woman's Body_ and _How to Stay Out of the Gynecologist's Office_, published by the Feminist Women's Health Centers. (They're also recommended by Inga Musico, for all you _Cunt_ fans.) Both books are well-written and very informative. They give factual information in a down-to-earth manner than anyone can understand. Do note that _How to Stay Out...._ was published in '79, so some information is outdated.

Anyhow, these books are well worth your donation to one a charity I think we can all support. If you're interested in them (they also sell speculums and books on menopause and birth control), check out this site.
