Hey, I'm a junior in high school, and 16 years old. I just lost my virginity this past Saturday to my boyfriend of about a month. Although it's a relatively short amount of time to have been together prior to having sex, it felt right for me, and I don't regret it at all. However, for less than a minute, we were having sex without protection, since both of us were a little nervous, it was hard for him to keep an erection when we stopped to put the condom on. Anyway, after a minute, we did put it on, and for the rest of the time we used the condom. I'm not very worried... although there are obviously risks when having unprotected sex even if it's for a short amount of time. The only thing that I have to take into consideration is making sure that we always use protection from now one. I have two questions, though: First question is regarding the slight chance of me getting pregnant. Saturday, we had sex. And today, I got my period. I don't know if that means anything about my chances of being pregnat. I have no idea when I am most fertile, or if having sex only a few days before getting my period lessens or increases the chance of pregnancy. He didn't ejaculate when we weren't using the condom, but I do know that there is pre-ejaculation... The second question is about what type of birth control I should use. I personally have no desire to use the pill. The idea of placing weird hormones into my body doesn't exactly thrill me. I have no problem with condoms, but I know that alone, they aren't foolproof. I'm not sure if I should get condoms with spermicide already in them, or if we should buy the spermicide separately. All of the methods of contraception that go into the female seem kind of strange to me. Well, I would love any feedback. Thanks a lot.

*mutters angrily*

I have another yeast infection. The last one I had was a little more then a month ago. Stupid birth control making me susceptible. I guess I'm due for a week of really healthy eating, because sugary foods can make it worse, or so I've heard.

Oh the joys of being female...

Hello? Where are you?

... oh wait, I have a busy week starting tomorrow.... I'm sure Aunt Flo's plane is just arriving late without prior notice to the limo driver.

I just wanted to mention something regarding parsley, since it's been sort of a hot topic lately.

A couple years ago, pre-birth-control-pills, I lived in constant fear of getting "oops" pregnant, and being a broke college student, did a whole lot of research about natural (i.e., cheap) abortificants, and I found out that, while parsley tea may work, placing a sprig of parsley inside your vagina may be a stronger way of inducing a period.

I never tried it, but I've always been curious to see if it works. I'll see if I can find the page that had that for everybody's perusal.

The other thing I wanted to tell you guys, because I imagine you all'd apprieciate this; the student access gallery at my school is displaying the work of a jewelry student this month, and one of her peices is a silver device with a little lid that looks remarkably like a Keeper! I only saw the show today, so I'll snipe a picture tomorrow and post it here.

a week of sore breasts... mild cramping... and ease in the cramping today... and two days of craving marmite.

yep, it's just about that time. i expect the cramps and heaves will hit full force tomorrow or so.

does anyone else with the salt/savoury craving find themselves eating marmite straight from the jar.

dip a finger in, pull it out, slowly tease the marmite off the finger... then repeat.

i think i'm going insane doing this. but it's sooooo good.
